Q: What do you do to ensure each flight is safe?
A: We assess the location, access, surrounding area and any legal restrictions before going to site and make sure that no people or objects are being put in danger by flying. We conduct a dynamic risk assessment on the day incase conditions change and the flight becomes unsafe.
Q: What if the weather conditions are bad?
A: Unfortunately, our flights are affected by the weather and we are unable to fly in the rain and during strong winds. We will keep an eye on the forecast in the days before the planned flight and keep the client updated. If flights have to be cancelled, we will do our best to accommodate rescheduling.
Q: How far and high can you fly?
A: The maximum altitude permitted to fly in the UK is 400ft or 121m. The pilot must be able to maintain a visual line of sight of the drone at all times, this is the limiting factor for distance but depending on conditions this is usually around 400-500m.
Q: Are there restrictions on places you can and can't fly?
A: Generally no, but there are some. You can be granted permission to fly inside no-fly-zones if it is for a genuine reason. We are not allowed to overfly large crowds but as we take safety very seriously we would always try to avoid this where possible. Most of the time we will be using our small drone, this allows up to fly in built up areas.
